Hi All,

I would be interested to hear any suggestions to our situation.

We live on a small complex of 10 houses. Our pool room is located under the pool and obviously our water supply enters the complex from the front, off the main road.  The water  supplies the showers, toilets and pool room/pool, all normal.

However, we've notice a large plastic pipe running from the pool room through the wall and around the buildings to the first owners house.  He is one of the original owners and if this pipe existed during the build, unlikely, then he'll be the only one to know.  We suspect that this pipe is feeding his property and effectively stealing water from the communal area. We don't wish alienate this owner by making  false accusations.  How can we determine whether this pipe is illegally feeding his property  and what can we do to prosecute and recover costs if guilty of theft?

Many Thanks

 Marco

Maybe, when no-one is around, you could blank off the pipe and see what happens. If your neighbour is stealing water, he will not be in a position to complain and you can all deny any knowledge if he does.

Hi Good Afternoon, I have only just read your post what you could do is look in your water cabinet and check your neighbours water meter (Usually marked with a tag) if the lever is switched off he is stealing from your communal water supply, secondly check his water meter when in use it should be clocking up units.

I owned a property in Peyia for 17 years and the amount of things that I witnessed was unbelievable from owners filling up 5 gallon cans in the middle of the night from the stand pipes that were situated in the gardens to owners washing their dishes in the communal toilets and owners showering at the pool shower all to save a few a few cents in the end I had enough and sold up because there was no point in starting a argument with them because they are so thick skinned that they don't care
