Hi - we relocated to Liopetri about 2 1/2 years ago and are also on the annual Aliens Registration Certificate ARC (pink slip - now yellow). We initially took out what is known as a Plan A health insurance through Minerva insurance in Paralimni. It provides health cover and for TCNs repatriation of remains to the U.K. which is a statutory requirement. It cost €180 per year but, as I am retired I also qualified (in the U.K.) for an S1 (UK NHS pays part towards any medical treatment here) which has allowed me, my wife and our 13 year old daughter to register with GESY - the Cypriot health service and the insurance has now reduced to €70 per year. The health facilities here are first rate. Treatment will require payment at point of delivery (our daughter required an x-Ray of her knee last week which cost €10 and we had to wait 5 mins to be seen in the radiology dept - took 5 mins to complete - and then a further 5 mins to wait for the film).
Hope that info helps but happy to provide more if necessary. Good luck with the move. Cheers - Barrie
